The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Will Smith more or less plays himself in this good-natured sitcom. As the show's popular theme song explains, Will is sent to live with his Aunt and Uncle, venturing away from his rough Philadelphia neighborhood to Bel-Air. Will often has fun at the expense of his cousins Carlton, Hilary, and Ashley. While the show is comical and holds a friendly vibe, there are various episodes in the series that were controversial, shining a light on the reality of being black, having family problems, drug use, and sickness as well as loss.
